Making Arroz con Leche
- Rinse the rice until the water runs almost clear.
- Add the rice, water, and cinnamon stick to a pot and simmer gently until the rice is tender.
- Stir in milk, evaporated milk, vanilla, and sugar.
- Simmer on low, stirring often, until creamy. Adjust sweetness and serve warm or chilled.
- Sprinkle with cinnamon before serving.
Making Churros
- Heat water with sugar, salt, and oil until it boils.
- Stir in flour until a dough forms.
- Let cool slightly, then pipe the dough into hot oil and fry until golden.
- Toss in cinnamon sugar while warm and serve with chocolate sauce.
Making Flan
- Make caramel by heating sugar in a dry pan until amber.
- Pour into a baking dish.
- Mix sweetened condensed milk, milk, eggs, and vanilla.
- Pour custard mix over the caramel in a water bath and bake at low heat until just set.
- Chill fully before unmolding.
Notes
Churros are best served fresh. Flan and tres leches taste better the next day. Consider a topping bar for customization.
